Preschool Inclusion Program
Redwood Elementary is home to a unique and fully inclusive preschool program. We serve children with special education needs and general education needs together in one shared classroom community, on one campus. Our preschool education specialists, speech therapist, and State Preschool Director co-teach to meet the needs of every child.
Program Sessions
We offer two sessions each day. Families are enrolled in either the AM or PM program.
Regular schedule
- AM session: 8:15 – 11:15 AM
- PM session: 11:45 AM – 2:45 PM
Early release Wednesdays
- AM session: 8:15 – 10:15 AM
- PM session: 10:45 AM – 12:45 PM
Redwood Preschool follows the Fort Bragg Unified School District calendar for all holidays and non-school days.
Our Day
Each day includes a predictable routine that supports learning, independence, and connection. Activities include free choice centers, circle time, snack time, structured center time, and outdoor play.

Arrival & Dismissal
Arrival and dismissal are important parts of our daily routine, and we take them seriously.
At the start of each session, a staff member will conduct a brief wellness check for each child before they enter the classroom. Families sign their child in at this time.
At the end of each session, students are dismissed directly from the classroom door, where a staff member is present. We want to make certain every child is picked up by a family member or authorized adult. Anyone who is new to picking up a student will be asked to show a photo ID, and staff will verify that they appear on the child's emergency contact list.
What to Bring
Preschool can be messy, and that is a sign of a great day. Please send an extra change of clothes with your child to keep in their cubby. If you have outgrown clothing you would like to donate to the classroom, we gladly accept it.
